The Position:

This position supports the HID Cardiff Hardware R&D Centre of Excellence by developing and executing test plans which validate the RFID and Smartcard related products developed by the Hardware Engineering team prior to industrialisation/mass production.

You will be responsible for designing and developing automated test processes to support the product validation process and to improve the overall test efficiency and throughput of the Test and Automation Team within HID Cardiff

Researches, plans, formulates and executes activities in the development of Test plans and supporting hardware and/ or software solutions by performing the following duties;

Throughout your role you will use a combination of empirical methods, computer-aided engineering & design software to perform engineering tasks. You will review product specifications, schematics and marketing requirements and produce suitable Test Plans.

You will also direct and coordinate manufacturing or building of prototypes and/or test systems.

 

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate would have a bachelor's degree from college or university; or +10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Team Lead Experience desirable.

You should have experience of working closely with other engineering (or non-engineering) disciplines in the project development and application to increase production quality, efficiency, or volume.

You should be able to possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures over a wide range of fields including but not limited to Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Validation, Electromechanical design, test automation, software writing and IP Networking.

As well, you should have experience using tools such as, Visual Studio, Labview, SciLab, LTSpice, CAD (Mechanical & PCB Layout), Issue tracking applications (TestTrack Pro), Product Lifecycle Management tools (Agile) and MS Project
